TATTOO REMOVAL
Tattoo removal is a medical procedure and different colours of the ink are removed at different sessions with our Q-Switched Laser, the sessions times depend on the size of the tattoo and it’s location. The laser has different wavelengths of light which breakdown the ink into small particles which the body removes via the lymphatic system. The colour will fade over a few weeks, it takes a number of sessions being 6 weeks apart. Tattoos can be removed or faded or modified. Pain is reduced by the built in cooling system in the laser machine.
How many treatments will I need?
This depends on several factors, including the density and colour of the tattoo. Amateur Tatoos can be quick to remove, taking 3 to 8 treatments, whereas professional tattoos vary considerably and some can take up to 10 treatments which are spaced 6 to 12 weeks apart.
How does the skin look after treatment ?
An instant whitening of the skin is seen after treatment, but this generally fades quickly. The area is likely to feel tender for a few hours and can be red and swollen for up to 48 hours, a thin scab may form over the treated area.
Are there side effects?
Very rarely the skin may become lighter or darker, or a small blister may form depending on sensitivity.
How does the treatment feel?
Most patients describe the sensation as similar to a hot band. Whilst mildly uncomfortable, most people tolerate treatment well.
