Jaw and shoulder tension consultation
A consultation about ongoing tension in the jaw muscles or across the trapezius.
Book a consultation- First step
- Consultation and medical assessment
- If suitable
- Treatment may be same day
- Results
- Gradual and temporary
Some people carry ongoing tension in the masseter (the jaw muscle used for chewing and clenching) or the trapezius (the large muscle across the neck and shoulders). A consultation looks at your history and whether treatment may be suitable.

Good to know
How it works
Where suitable, treatment uses a prescription medicine to relax the targeted muscle, which may reduce tension. Effects build over a couple of weeks.
Areas we commonly discuss
- Masseter, for teeth grinding or jaw clenching
- Trapezius, for ongoing shoulder tension
What to expect
Effects are temporary and vary from person to person. A review appointment helps us understand how you responded.
Please note
If you have ongoing pain, seeing your GP, dentist or physiotherapist may be the better first step. We'll tell you if we think so.
Pricing
Under current AHPRA and TGA advertising rules, we can't publish prices for treatments involving prescription-only medicines. Costs are explained in full at your consultation, once we know whether treatment is suitable and what it would involve.
Every procedure carries risks, and results vary. We'll talk through both before anything goes ahead.
